wish of those help So, to start, you can read more about JSON formats here: https://www.w3schools.com/python/python_json.asp
Second, dictionaries must have unique keys. Therefore, having two keys named domain is incorrect. You can read more about python dictionaries here: https://www.w3schools.com/python/python_dictionaries.asp
code :
{
  "websites": [
    {
      "domain": "Something.com",
      "name": "Something",
      "description": "A thing!"
    },
    {
      "domain": "Thingie.com",
      "name": "Thingie",
      "description": "A thingie!"
    },
  ]
}
{
   "domains": ["Something.com","Thingie.com","Stuff.com"]
   "name": "Me Domains",
   "description": "A list of domains belonging to Me"
}

Get count of unique values of properties from JSON API response

To fix this issue http://jsfiddle.net/hy7rasp4/
Aggregate your data in an array indexed by the unique key, Then you get access to information on duplicates and count.
code :
var i,
    title,
    uniqueResults= {};

for (i in results) {
   title= results[i].title;
   if (!uniqueResults[title]) {
      uniqueResults[title]= [];
   }

   uniqueResults[title].push(results[i]);
}

How do i find and count unique values in nested JSON objects?

Hope this helps A function like the beneath would work. Basically you pass the array as parameter and return an object that 1) gets a new property if the property does not exist yet (eg. the product id), and 2) adds to the count of items when the property does exist. The function below generates an output like: {'product 1': 10, 'product 2': 1, 'product 3': 2}
code :
function getItems(input) {
  var arr = input, obj = {};
  for (var i = 0; i < arr.length; i++) {
    if (!obj[arr[i].name]) {
      obj[arr[i].name] = 1;
    } else if (obj[arr[i].name]) {
      obj[arr[i].name] += 1;
    }
  }
  return obj;
}
// example use
console.log(getItems(order_contents)); // outputs entire object
console.log(getItems(order_contents)['product 1']); // outputs 10
