How to keep docker container running via python docker SDK?

wish help you to fix your issue Running the container using the following should solve the issue client.containers.run(IMAGE_NAME, detach=True, ports={"5000/tcp": "5000"}) which binds port 5000 of the container to port 5000 of the host machine.
Ports 0 to 1024 are strictly reserved for OS applications, it's always adviced to use ports greater than 1024 for the host machine. However, to use ports less than 1024 you'll need to have sudo access which is not advisable.

How is docker able to mount a volume from docker client into a docker container running on docker host?

By : Laurent Baresse

Does that help The toolbox VM includes a shared directory from the client. /c/Users (C:\Users) on Windows and /Users on Mac.
Directories in these folders, on the client, can be added as volumes in a container.

How do you determine if a docker container is running on remote docker-machine or locally running in docker engine?

I hope this helps you . The docker CLI is the client half of a client/server architecture (dockerd or in past versions docker daemon is the other half). When you use docker-machine, it is updating environment variables including $DOCKER_HOST which tells docker to connect to another host. The default is to connect to the socket on the local host. The value of $DOCKER_HOST overrides that, and the CLI flag docker -H ... overrides both of those.
The most common reason to have a container spin up on an unexpected host is when you forget to set/unset $DOCKER_HOST.

Jetty Docker container running spring application unable to connect to mysql running outside docker container

I think the issue was by ths following , Since a docker container has its own network namespace, it has its own You will have to connect to your host machine by another routable ip address.
In my case, my mac is on my local home network with an ip address: When I run the Docker For Mac application, it fires up a tiny virtual machine. Inside that virtual machine, docker runs along with all my containers. The virtual machine that is running sends all traffic out of the virtual machine by default. Since the address is accessible to my mac, any traffic I send to that ip from inside the virtual machine will get to my mac.

how to connect python app in docker container with running docker container with url

To fix this issue You dont connect two docker containers though ip addresses. Instead, you want to use docker internal network aliases:
code :
version: '3'
      - database
      - 54321:54321

Running Docker inside Docker container: Cannot connect to the Docker daemon

seems to work fine If you really want to run a Docker container inside an other Docker container, you should use already existing images provided by Docker (https://hub.docker.com/_/docker) instead of creating your own base image : choose images tagged as dind (docker in docker) or -dind (like 18.09.0-dind). If you want to run your own image (not recommended though), don't forget to run it with --privileged option (that's why you get the error).
Example with docker official images :
code :
# run Docker container running Docker daemon
docker run --privileged --name some-docker -d docker:18.09.0-dind

# run hello-world Docker image inside the Docker container previously started
docker exec -i -t some-docker docker run hello-world
