To fix the issue you can do You can have a view that when someone visits the url it will launch another process:
code :
from django.http import HttpResponse
from django.views.generic import View
import subprocess

class ExecutePythonFileView(View):
    def get(self, request):
        # Execute script
        subprocess.call(['python', 'somescript.py'])

        # Return response
        return HttpResponse("Executed!")

Hope that helps You cannot do it with AJAX. But, you can redirect / open a new window that takes the user to the file page, which will automatically start the download.
If you want no button you can use one of these lines of JavaScript.
code :
setTimeout(() => window.location = 'download_url', 5000);

How can I use SessionAuthentication to make a login rest API with Django Rest Framework?

By : Jordan Arrieta

hop of those help? The /api-auth/login/ resource is only for authentication in the browseble api. To use session authentication, you must create a session first. You must have a login resource, which accepts user credentials and authenticates a user, using the Django authentication system. On requesting that resource the client will get a cookie header. The cookie and csrf token must be used in future requests.
