Await question in Javascript async functions

Any of those help some().then() returns a new promise and the await waits on that new promise so it will wait for the .then() handler and any promise that it might return before going on past the await. In other words, it waits for that entire promise chain.
code :
async abc(){
    let result = await some();
    // do something with result

    //other code

Async-Await or Promises with JavaScript functions

By : Tristan Hardy

it fixes the issue What you are really asking is how to implement a function after a promise is done. If so, then making the function an Async function will do the trick.
For information on async-await check out Async/await.

Do all functions in an `async/await` chain have to use the `async/await` keyword?

I hope this helps . No, at least not for this example - if you have a function that is just awaiting a Promise and returning the result, you can just return that Promise alone, without any async or await:
code :
function one() {
  return fetch(.....);

function two() {
  return one();

function three() {
  return two();
async function one() {
  const fetchResult = await fetch(.....);
  // do something with fetchResult
  return foo;

function two() {
  return one();

function three() {
  return two();
async function one() {
  const fetchResult = await fetch(.....);
  // do something with fetchResult
  return foo;

async function two() {
  const oneResult = await one();
  console.log('got result for one');
  return oneResult;

function three() {
  return two();

javascript await on multiple chained async functions

I think the issue was by ths following , This is because getB is an async function and does not return a B object but a Promise object that have no action method. This promise will further be resolved with a B object and you can access to the resolved value by catching it with the then method as proposed by PVermeer.

Question RE Using React Class Fields with Async/Await on Arrow Functions

it should still fix some issue When using React's Class Fields syntax, how can I use async/await and try/catch on arrow functions for my "events" (markComplete, addTodo)? , You can make the arrow function async as well.
code :
addTodo = async title => {
  try {
    await axios.post('http://jsonplaceholder.typicode.com/todos', { title, completed: false, })
    .then(res => this.setState({ todos: [...this.state.todos, res.data] }));
  } catch(err) {
    // Handle err
addTodo = async title => {
  await axios.post(
    { title, completed: false, }
  .then(res => this.setState({ todos: [...this.state.todos, res.data] }))
  .catch(err => {
    // Handle err

should help you out You don't can use return in express route. use instead res object like this: res.send(response.data.data)
see: https://expressjs.com/pt-br/api.html#res
