Most Efficient Way to Test Object Type

Any of those help I have values stored as strings in a DataTable where each value could really represent an int, double, or string (they were all converted to strings during an import process from an external data source). I need to test and see what type each value really is. , Would use double.TryParse, it has performance benefits.

Most efficient way to check if an object is a value type

this will help You aren't really testing an object - you want to test the type. To call those, the caller must know the type, but... meh. Given a signature (T obj) the only sane answer is:
code :
public bool IsValueType<T>() {
    return typeof(T).IsValueType;
}
public bool IsValueType<T>(T obj) {
    return typeof(T).IsValueType;
}
 public bool IsValueType(object obj);
public bool IsValueType(object obj) {
    return obj != null && obj.GetType().IsValueType;
}

Class<Test> object not the same type as a Test object? Junit

this will help Yes, you are making a fundamental mistake by assuming that a Class< Test > reference and a Test reference are one and the same.
You need an instance of a Class that extends Test, not an instance of a Class object whose definition extends Test (Classes are objects too in java).

how efficient is Object type in vb.net?

fixed the issue. Will look into that further The main thing you should worry about with the Object type in VB.NET is late-binding. If you call a method on an Object variable (except for those methods that are part of the Object type, such as ToString), the vb runtime has to use reflection to find and call the correct methods on the exact type when they're executed. If you use a specific type for your variable, that lookup will only occur once, when your code is JIT-compiled. I would say that the overhead of late-binding is significant enough that you should avoid it when possible.
However, that doesn't apply to checking the object's type and assigning to a variable with a more specific type. So if you figure out what type of object you have and assign it to the right type of variable before calling methods on it, you should be ok. There is a little bit of overhead to doing that, but it's probably no worse than what you're already doing.

C++, google test/mock: assertion to test and object type

Does that help Google Test is for run-time tests. The type of a function is determined at compile time, before Google Test ever enters the picture.
You could use result_of and assert that the typeid value is the same, something like this:

In Scala, how to test the type of an 'Any' object against a type with type parameter?

like below fixes the issue I am trying to get a type-safe way of converting the result of parsing a JSON string. I want to check whether a field is Map[String, any] or a plain string. My first attempt is , It was a bug. It's fixed in 2.11:
