MVC: Unable to update one of my model's properties

By : chayma ben hamouda

I hope this helps . In my mvc controller, I'm using a model for Orders. One of the properties in my Order model is called StatusDesc (Status Description). When I originally pull this status via the database, it populates my model, including this StatusDesc property successfully, however if I later go to update the StatusDesc via code, it doesn't update & I'm not sure why. Here's my code: Going into this code, the StatusDesc = "Completed" , because you are reading StatusDesc value from other property.
code :
return order.CompletedDate != null ? "Completed" : (order.Active ? "Active" : "Deleted");

How do I update only the properties of my models that have changed in MVC?

This might help you Unless you have any particular requirements for what happens in this case (e.g. lock the record, which of course requires some functionality to undo the lock in the event that the user decides not to make a change) I'd suggest the normal approach is an optimistic lock:
Each update you perform should check that the record hasn't changed in the meantime.

Unable to update singleton properties

should help you out First thing I noticed was that you are declaring "storeVar" in the body of the store method. And this looks like terribly wrong to me because every time you call this you'll re-initialize the singleton. You should declare the variable like this:
code :
static CompanyStore * storeVar = nil;
    @implementation CompanyStore
    @synthesize someCompany, someName;

    // Declaring the shared instance
    + (CompanyStore *) store
    {

        if (!storeVar) storeVar = [[super allocWithZone:nil] init];

        return storeVar;

    }
- (id) init
{
if (storeVar!=nil) {
return storeVar;
}

    self = [super init];
    if (self) {
        someCompany = [[Company alloc] init];
        [someCompany setBoss:[NSMutableString stringWithFormat:@"John Smith"]];
        [someCompany setName:[NSMutableString stringWithFormat:@"Megasoft"]];
        [someCompany setRating:50];

        someName = [[NSMutableString alloc] initWithString:@"Bobby"];
    }
    return self;
}

Any of those help You dont pass instance argument to the form in post() method. Without it Django trying to create new object on every POST request.
code :
def post(self, request, *args, **kwargs):
    profile = Profile.objects.filter(user=request.user).first()
    if profile:
        form = ProfileForm(request.POST, instance=profile)
    else:
        form = ProfileForm(request.POST)
    if form.is_valid():
        profile_obj = form.save(commit=False)
        profile_obj.user = request.user
        profile_obj.save()
    return render(request, self.template_name, {'form': form})

will help you For very large models, the property database is lazy loaded on mobile devices like the galaxy S5.
If the property DB is too big, it will not be able to lazy load the DB.
