Can I use n2 or n2d machine types with Cloud Dataproc?

By : Donaghy

may help you . Cloud Dataproc does support machine types other than n1 machine types when using the gcloud command line tool. If you specify a n2 (or other machine type) it should use that machine type appropriately. For example:
code :
--master-machine-type=n2-standard-4 --worker-machine-type=n2-standard-4

How to run hive on google cloud dataproc from within the machine?

it fixes the issue Running the hive command at present is somewhat broken due to the default metastore configuration.
I recommend you use the beeline client instead, which talks to the same Hive Server 2 as Dataproc Hive Jobs. You can use it via ssh by running beeline -u jdbc:hive2://localhost:10000 on the master.

Dependency Issues for Cloud DataProc + Spark + Cloud BigTable with JAVA

fixed the issue. Will look into that further Here is a full working example of Cloud Bigtable with Hortonwork's SHC which is based on HBase 1.. We will work on creating a similar example with HBase 2.'s new Spark integration built on Cloud Bigtable artifacts designed to work with the new HBase 2.* APIs (tracking issue link).

how to set CPUS quota for Google Cloud Dataproc via Cloud Composer?

To fix the issue you can do Dataproc worker machines are in fact Compute Engine VMs, so CPU quotas applies to Compute Engine API.
CPU quotas are not related to Airflow/Google Cloud Composer and cannot be configured from there. DataprocClusterCreateOperator simply calls Dataproc APIs, which at their turn starts VMs on Compute Engine.

Google Cloud dataproc not able to access hive metastore from cloudsql with --scopes=cloud-platform

Hope that helps The --initialization-actions flag requires a comma-separated list rather than repeating the flag to append multiple initialization actions to the list. Try
code :
--initialization-actions=gs://dataproc-initialization-actions/cloud-sql-proxy/cloud-sql-proxy.sh,gs://dataproc-initialization-actions/presto/presto.sh

No Cloud SQL instances to proxy when connecting dataproc cluster to Cloud SQL instance

wish helps you If you're using the init action just to provide connectivity for workloads without using the Hive metastore, you should be using only the additional-cloud-sql-instances metadata key instead of hive-metastore-instance; you would just leav hive-metastore-instance blank and use:
code :
--metadata "additional-cloud-sql-instances=<PROJECT_ID>:<REGION>:<ANOTHER_INSTANCE_NAME>=tcp<PORT_#>[,...]"
