I wish did fix the issue. If I submit my application to spark, without providing "--master" parameter, what will it default to? , By default --master default value is none.
code :
Property Name   Default Meaning
spark.master (none) The cluster manager to connect to. See the list of allowed master URL's.

it should still fix some issue This is probably because you left sparkConf.setMaster("local[n]") in the code.

I wish this help you If you are not using YARN or mesos as cluster managers, i.e. Standalone mode, you have to deploy your application to every cluster one by one, using spark-submit.
Deploying the application locally (local[n]) using SSH on each cluster would be fine, assuming that you have made the right configurations of master and slaves when creating the Standalone clusters mode.

I hope this helps . There is no difference between these properties. If set both, properties set directly in application take precedence. To quote documentation:

Spark master won't show running application in UI when I use spark-submit for python script

Hope this helps The image shows 8081 UI. The master shows running application when I start a scala shell or pyspark shell. But when I use spark-submit to run a python script, master doesn't show any running application. This is the command I used: spark-submit --master spark://localhost:7077 sample_map.py. The web UI is at :4040. I want to know if I'm doing it the right way for submitting scripts or if spark-submit never really shows running application. , For Local run use this:
code :
val sparkConf = new SparkConf().setAppName("Your app Name").setMaster("local")
val sc = new SparkContext(sparkConf)
val sparkConf = new SparkConf().setAppName("Your app Name")
val sc = new SparkContext(sparkConf)

This might help you The master option can take multiple spark masters, so if you have more than one list them with a comma between them. e.g.
/bin/spark-submit --class SparkAggregator.java --deploy-mode cluster --supervise --master spark://host1:7077,host2:7077,host3:7077
