To fix the issue you can do I've knocked up a basic version of what I'm looking for, it's not perfect but it'll do the job until something better comes along.
code :
public class LimitedQueue<T> : Queue<T>
    public int Limit { get; set; }

    public LimitedQueue(int limit) : base(limit)
        Limit = limit;

    public new void Enqueue(T item)
        while (Count >= Limit)

I wish did fix the issue. Make a new class that encapsulates the queue and enforce a size limit in the new class.

std::queue<T, list<T> >::size() is slow in O(n)?

it fixes the issue queue is a container adaptor, so you have to understand that the complexity descriptions may refer only to the work the adaptor does itself (which is indeed constant, namely just passing the call through to the underlying container).
For example, see this reference: size() calls the underlying container's size() function. For a list, this has complexity O(n) in C++98/03, and O(1) in C++11.

This might help you I found solution by using ConcurrentLinkedQueue http://www.javacodex.com/Concurrency/ConcurrentLinkedQueue-Example
Problem here is I used 2 thread to process a Queue, should not use normal queue. I will feedback if any problem

How to limit the size of an '<li>' element

may help you . You can always use substring to get only a subset of chars entered and redisplay that on mouseover
On MouseOver use substring to change text inside li tag.
code :
var myLi = $('#your-li-id');

Limit the width size in <pre>

should help you out Setting max-width on a pre element actually restricts it width. You can see this by inspecting the element using a browser’s Developer Tools and also simply by setting a background color on it, say pre { background: yellow }. Note: testing this with the outline property gives a wrong result in Firefox; but even it implements the border property correctly.
As usual in rendering elements, content may overflow the width of the element, and the default is visible overflow. If you wish to cut it off, rendering just the part that fits in, set pre { overflow: hidden }. If you wish to indicate truncation with an ellipsis “…”, set also pre { text-overflow: ellipsis; }.
