wish help you to fix your issue I struggle with receiving google map markers from MySQL database. I have this problem java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to invoke virtual method 'int java.util.ArrayList.size()' on a null object reference. , For sure you got NPE because you catch JSONException
code :
catch (JSONException e) {
        e.printStackTrace();
}
JSONArray data = new JSONArray(RetrieveTask.class);
 protected void onPostExecute(String result) {
     //call here method of Activity or parse your JSONArray
     JSONArray data = new JSONArray(result);
     //your other code
 }

help you fix your problem When I run the code, I get prompt to enter the number and I enter the number but nothing happens after that! I'm trying to implement method overloading here. Any help would be appreciated.
code :
import java.util.Scanner;
public class MethodOverload {
public static void main(String [] args){
    Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in);
    System.out.println ("Enter the int or double number");
    double y = input.nextDouble();

    if(y % 1 == 0) {
        int x = (int) y;
        System.out.printf("Square of integer value %d is %d", x, square(x));
    }else{
        System.out.printf("Square of double value %f is %f", y, square(y));
    }

}

public static int square(int intValue){
    System.out.printf ("\nCalled square method with int argument: %d", intValue);

    return intValue*intValue;
}

public static double square (double doubleValue){
    System.out.printf ("\nCalled sqauer method with double argument: %f", doubleValue);
    return doubleValue*doubleValue;
}

}

it should still fix some issue As Dr.Molle observed in his comment: the ID of the map-container is map , not map_canvas
code :
    function initMap() {
    var myOptions = {
      zoom: 4,
      center: new google.maps.LatLng(42.0, 10.0),
      mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.TERRAIN
    }

    var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map"), myOptions);
    var points = [
        new google.maps.LatLng(39.0, -3.0),
        new google.maps.LatLng(52.1, 12.1),
        new google.maps.LatLng(40.2, 32.7)
    ];
    var markers = [];
    var path = [];
    for (var i = 0; i < points.length; ++i) {
        var marker = new google.maps.Marker({map: map, position: points[i]});
        markers.push(marker);
        path.push(marker.position);
    }
    var polyline = new google.maps.Polyline({
        path: path,
        strokeColor: "#FF0000"
    });
    polyline.setMap(map);
    }
html, body {
        height: 100%;
        margin: 0;
        padding: 0;
      }
      #map {
        height: 100%;
      }
    <div id="map"></div>
    <script async defer
        src="https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?signed_in=true&callback=initMap"></script>

around this issue So i have the code below. It doesn't show anything when i run it. Just a white blank page on a browser. It should be a googlemap with markers(multiple) on it. I want to know what is wrong with my code because it doesn't show any error at all. , First of all you have syntax error right here
code :
var locations = <?php echo json_encode($location); ?>;
var locations = "<?php echo json_encode($location); ?>";
locations = JSON.parse(locations)
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
  <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />
  <title>Google Maps Multiple Markers</title>
  <script src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js"
          type="text/javascript"></script>
</head>
<body>
  <div id="map" style="width: 500px; height: 400px;"></div>

  <?php

    $locations[] = 'name,6.00,125.50';
    $locations[] = 'name,6.05,125.55';
    $locations[] = 'name,6.10,125.60';
    $locations[] = 'name,6.15,125.65';
    $locations[] = 'name,6.20,125.70';
    $locations[] = 'name,6.25,125.75';

    ?>

  <script type="text/javascript">

    var locations = '<?php echo json_encode($locations); ?>';
    locations = JSON.parse(locations)

    var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById('map'), {
      zoom: 10,
      center: new google.maps.LatLng(6.40, 125.60),
      mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP
    });

    var infowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow();

    for (var i = 0; i < locations.length; i++) {

        loc_array = locations[i].split(",");

        var marker = new google.maps.Marker({
            position: new google.maps.LatLng(loc_array[1], loc_array[2]),
            map: map
        });

        google.maps.event.addListener(marker, 'click', (function(marker, i) {
            return function() {
                infowindow.setContent(loc_array[0]);
                infowindow.open(map, marker);
            }
        })(marker, i));
    }
  </script>
</body>
</html>

help you fix your problem I'm trying to implement a dequeue function for a queue but I am confused how the borrow checker works. What am I doing wrong in this code? , Here is an implementation of the dequeue:
code :
pub fn dequeue(&mut self) -> Result<T, String> {
    // First, disconnect `self.last` from the element it is pointing,
    // since it will have to be updated anyway. If there is no elemen in the
    // queue, we're done.
    let first = try!(self.first.take().ok_or("Queue is empty".to_owned()));
    // if there are two Rc's pointing to this node, then this must be the
    // only node, so `self.last` has to go
    if Rc::strong_count(&first) == 2 {
        self.last = None;
    }
    let first_node = Rc::try_unwrap(first).ok().expect(
        "This should be the only owner of the node"
    ).into_inner();
    self.first = first_node.next;
    self.length -= 1;
    Ok(first_node.item)
}
