Python statically typed constructor?

will be helpful for those in need first of all, I'm brand new to python, and have basic understanding of c/c++/c# which are all statically typed languages. So can the following be done in python? , I'm assuming that you fix
code :
self.birthday = datetime.date(birthday)
self.birthday = birthday
assert isinstance(birthday, datetime.date)

I think the issue was by ths following , Boo is a statically typed language for the Common Language Infrastructure (aka. the Microsoft .NET platform). The syntax is highly inspired by Python, and hashes/lists/array are part of the syntax:
code :
i = 5
if i > 5:
    print "i is greater than 5."
else:
    print "i is less than or equal to 5."

hash = {'a': 1, 'b': 2, 'monkey': 3, 42: 'the answer'}
print hash['a']
print hash[42]

for item in hash:
    print item.Key, '=>', item.Value

hope this fix your issue This isn't really a static/dynamic question but rather a matter of language design philosophy.
In Python, + is defined to be addition for numbers and concatenation for strings. This is perfectly reasonable behavior if you have even a little programming experience.

I think the issue was by ths following , If I interpret your question as "Is there a statically-typed mode for Python?", then Cython probably comes closest to offering that functionality.
Cython is a superset of Python syntax - almost any valid Python code is also valid Cython code. The Cython compiler translates the quasi-Python source code to not-for-human-eyes C, which can then be compiled into a shared object and loaded as a Python module.

it helps some times At the time __init__ is being defined, the class itself isn't yet defined, let alone bound to a name. Use a forward reference instead, consisting of a string literal.
code :
class MyNode:
    def __init__(self, id: str = None, child_node: 'MyNode' = None):

To fix this issue I don't know about traits ... but if you want to check the type of an object when it is assigned, you can override __setattr__ to check that...
