Get form values from route ember

Get form values from route ember

I hope this helps you . When you use this.get() in a Route, this is the Route. When you use an expression in a template like {{input value=password}}, the variable is in the controller.
From the Route, you need to access those variables this way: this.controller.get('password')

Ember refresh route on form submit

Does that help To enter again on same route with same model you need to call Em.Route.refresh method on that route. To do it from Em.Controller you need to access to that route. Usually, you can do it by this.get('target') (inside controller). Then, controller must send action to route: this.get('target').send('actionName') (that action must be in actions hash of the route).
Complete example:
code :
App.IndexRoute = Ember.Route.extend({
  actions: {
    refresh: function() {
      this.refresh();
    }
  }
});

App.IndexController = Ember.ObjectController.extend({
  actions: {
    ref: function(){
      this.get('target').send('refresh');
    }
  }
});
How do I communicate the form parameters from the template to the route in ember.js?

I hope this helps . 1. About Controllers
If you do not like to use controllers this would work for you (but I do not recommend you to follow this way):
code :
export default Ember.Route.extend({
  actions: {
    add: function() {
        alert(this.controllerFor( this.get('routeName') ).get('name'));
    }
  }
});
{{input value=name}}
// route
export default Ember.Route.extend({
   model: function() {
     // your logic here, for example
     // return Ember.Object.create({name: 'DefaultName'});
     // or
     // return this.store.createRecord('yourModel', {name: 'DefaultName'});
   }
});
 // template
 <form {{action 'add' on='submit'}}>
   <label for="name">Name</label>
   {{input value=model.name placeholder='Enter name' required="required"}}
 </form>
// controller
export default Ember.Controller.extend({
  action: {
    add: function() {

      // whatever you'd like to do with model, for example
      // alert( this.get('model.name') );
      // or
      // var self = this;
      // this.get('model').save().then(function() {
      //   self.transitionToRoute('someRoute');
      // });
    }
  }
});

Hope this helps transitioning to different route is not usually responsibility of component you need to send action (onSubmit for example) to route which will trigger actual transition
code :
{{your-component submit='onSubmitForm'}}
 actions: {
  submit() {
    this.sendAction('submit', { field1: 'val', field2: 'val' });
  }
 }
actions: {
 onSubmitForm(fields) {
   this.transitionTo('new-route');
 }
}

I wish this help you The properties you use in templates are actually part of the controller, not route. So if you try to log this.controller.get('email) in your route, you should be able to get a proper value.

I hope this helps . There's a nice addon for this called ember-routable-modal
In your route, you extend their mixin:
code :
// app/routes/example.js
import Ember from 'ember';
import ModalRouteMixin from 'ember-routable-modal/mixins/route';

export default Ember.Route.extend(ModalRouteMixin, {
});
// app/templates/example.hbs
<div class="routable-modal--dialog">
    <div class="routable-modal--content">
        <div class="routable-modal--header">
            {{routable-modal-close-button class="routable-modal--close"}}
            <h4 class="routable-modal--title">Modal title</h4>
        </div>
        <div class="routable-modal--body">
            Content
        </div>
    </div>
</div>
renderTemplate() {
    this.render({
        into: 'application',
        outlet: 'routable-modal-outlet'
    });
}
