this will help In this case ViewState has nothing to do with this. The problem lies in the fact that disabled input controls are not part of the Form Post back to the server. But because the TextBox does still exists on the page asp.net will fill it with the values it receives from PostBack, but that one is null so the TextBox is made empty.
You can check this with the following snippet. You will see that fromDateE.UniqueID does not exists and thus fromDateE will be emptied.
code :
if (Request.Form[fromDateE.UniqueID] == null)
{
    fromDateE.Text = "Form Post was empty.";
}

it should still fix some issue I would like to know if it's possible to force a CSS Color on a "disabled=true" textbox? By default, this attribute is removing the css font color and replacing it by a very light gray.
code :
input[disabled='disabled'] {
  color:blue;
  }

wish help you to fix your issue So far as I can tell, this is a bug in the way the system is rendering the control's disabled state. I've created the following code to simulate this issue. The code is a bit verbose but I made it so in order easily understand the logic flow.
I created a form, with : 4 textboxes named txtBox1, txtBox2, txtBox3 and txtBox4 4 checkboxes named chkBox1, chkBox2, chkBox3 and chkBox4
code :
    private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) {
        chkBox1.CheckedChanged += chkBox_CheckedChanged;
        chkBox2.CheckedChanged += chkBox_CheckedChanged;
        chkBox3.CheckedChanged += chkBox_CheckedChanged;
        chkBox4.CheckedChanged += chkBox_CheckedChanged;
    }

    private void chkBox_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) {
        var chkBox = ((CheckBox)sender);
        var controlSet = chkBox.Name.Substring(6,1);
        var txtName = "txtBox" + controlSet;

        foreach (var txtBox in Controls.Cast<object>().Where(ctl => ((Control)ctl).Name == txtName).Select(ctl => ((TextBox)ctl))) {
            if (chkBox.Checked) {
                txtBox.Enabled = true;
                txtBox.Focus();
            }
            else {
                //The checkbox stole the focuse when it was clicked, so no need to change.
                txtBox.Enabled = false;
            }
        }
    }
    var borderStyle = txtBox.BorderStyle;
    txtBox.BorderStyle = BorderStyle.None;
    txtBox.Enabled = false;
    txtBox.BorderStyle = borderStyle;

How to select all text of a TextBox on mouse click? (TextBox.SelectAll() not working on TextBox.Enter)

How to select all text of a TextBox on mouse click? (TextBox.SelectAll() not working on TextBox.Enter)

seems to work fine The reason why you didn't see the text getting selected is that the TextBox is busy when one of those events occurred (e.g., caret positioning). You select the text and then the internal event handlers of the TextBox would remove the selection e.g. by setting the caret position.
All you have to do is to wait until the internal event handlers have completed.
code :
private async void SelectAll_OnTextBoxGotFocus(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
{
  await Application.Current.Dispatcher.InvokeAsync((sender as TextBox).SelectAll);
}
private void SelectAll_OnTextBoxEnter(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
  var textBox = sender as TextBox;
  textBox.BeginInvoke(new Action(textBox.SelectAll));
}

I hope this helps you . Set a change event, check the length. If there's a length, disable all others with the same name:
