hop of those help? From your example of 1/31/2009 being changed to 3/3/2009 it sounds like you just want a way to advance the specified date by the number of days in its respective month. (Adding 31 days to the date if it's in January, 28 if in February during a non-leap year, etc...)
So your code would look something like:
code :
d = d.AddDays(DateTime.DaysInMonth(d.Year, d.Month))

Any of those help Are you trying to get 1 month from now? If so, what you are getting is correct. 1 Month from May 31 is July 1, not June 30. If you want it to only move to the second month only depending on the number of days in this month:
Ex: Jan 31st 2014 -> Feb 28th 2014 or the case you mentioned, you can use a small hack to use the min of the current days and the number of days in the next month to keep you in that same month:
code :
// Assume its yesterday
var date = new Date(2014, 4, 31);
// Get the current date
var currentDate = date.getDate();
// Set to day 1 to avoid forward
// Increase month by 1
date.setMonth(date.getMonth() + 1);
// Get max # of days in this new month
var daysInMonth = new Date(date.getYear(), date.getMonth()+1, 0).getDate();
// Set the date to the minimum of current date of days in month
date.setDate(Math.min(currentDate, daysInMonth));

I hope this helps you . It's because of wrapping, and has nothing to do with Firefox or Firefox addons.
code :
var dt = new Date(0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0);
Why does a call to Javascript's Date library such as date.setMonth(date.getMonth()-1) return 1426456040720 here?

With these it helps The return value from .setMonth() is the ms since epoch of the date object. You can see that intended return value in the ECMAScript specification here.
.setMonth() modifies its Date object. You can obtain the new month value from that object with .getMonth() if you want the new month value.
code :
var d = new Date();
console.log('this month: ' + d.getMonth());
d.setMonth(d.getMonth() - 1);
console.log('previous month: ' + d.getMonth());
Date.prototype.setMonth() changes the timezone offset?

To fix this issue The getTimezoneOffset method returns a different value during DST, and in month 5 the DST is different than now.
code :
var date = new Date();
