Why are my objects frozen?

hop of those help? pygame.display.flip() must be called to refresh the scene. Since you are doing that only when a narrow set of conditions is satisfied, the screen is not getting refreshed even though the aliens, bullets and player positions/states are being updated.
if i am not mistaken the narrow set of conditions is collision detection and should be updating the status of the alien to dead. You'll also need to move the flip call into the main while True: loop (python scopes are tab sensitive)

wish helps you They are really cold.
Saying an "object is frozen" is just another way to say the object is "serialized" or "flattened" or even "marshalled".

may help you . In Ruby, what does it mean for a String or Array (etc) object to be 'Frozen'? How/where is this property set or modified? , It means you cannot modify it. You set it by freeze method.
code :
s = "a"
# => "ab"
# => RuntimeError: can't modify frozen String
s + "c"
# => "abc"

Does that help second is in fact a new object, with first being the prototype of second. The reason why
code :
second.test = 20;
var first = {
    test: 10

var second = Object.create(first);
Object.defineProperty(second, 'test', { value: 20, enumerable: true, configurable: true, writable: true });
console.log(second.test); // 20

I wish this helpful for you What I ended up doing is declare a private writer, which allows conditionally setting the value, even in a frozen object:
code :
class DefNode < Node
  def visibility_scope
    resolved_visibility_scope ||= VisibilityScopeResolver.new(self).resolve

  attr_writer :resolved_visibility_scope
