I think the issue was by ths following , Independent of the programming language, the usual way of sorting large amounts of data is the following:

With these it helps Although it would make more sense to use a date object (you're in object denial), it isn't hard to sort this 2D array using a custom comparator:
code :
Arrays.sort(data, new Comparator<int[]>() {
    public int compare(int[] a, int[] b)  {
        // compare years
        if (a[2] == b[2]) {
            // compare months
            if (a[0] == b[0]) {
                return Integer.compare(a[1], b[1]);
            } else {
                // compare days
                return Integer.compare(a[0], b[0]);
            }
        } else {
            return Integer.compare(a[2], b[2]);
        }
    }
});

help you fix your problem I am trying to sort an array with a mixture of ints and strings. Take for example:
code :
a.sort_by { |x| [(x.to_s.match(/^\d+/) ? x.to_i : 1.0 / 0), x.to_s] }
a.sort_by do |x|
  x.to_s.split(/(\D+)/).map do |y|
    [(y.match(/\d/) ? y.to_i : 1.0 / 0), y]
  end
end

it fixes the issue Usually, it will have that size. But to make sure, add a static_assert:
code :
static_assert(sizeof(intpair) == sizeof(int) * 2, "Unexpected struct size");

To fix the issue you can do Personally, I would use a class to represent the players, so that you can keep the names and scores together. Something like:
