Diverts deleted when restarting ActiveMQ Artemis

Diverts deleted when restarting ActiveMQ Artemis

this one helps. Diverts created via the management API during runtime are volatile. If you wish to have a divert which survives a broker restart you should modify the broker.xml with the desired divert configuration.
Of course, the current behavior may not work for your use-case. If that's true then I would encourage you to open a "Feature Request" JIRA at Artemis JIRA project. Furthermore, if you're really committed to seeing the behavior change you can download the code, make the necessary changes, and submit a pull-request (or attach a patch to the JIRA). Checkout the Artemis Hacking Guide for help getting started.

I hope this helps . Artemis 2.0.0 has a new addressing model. if you need backward compatibility you have to configure the acceptors in such way the older clients would connect.
So, I would recommend just updating your client.
Can an Apache ActiveMQ Artemis client connect to an existing ActiveMQ broker 5.15.X?

it should still fix some issue No, the Artemis JMS client uses the Artemis Core protocol which the ActiveMQ 5.x broker does not understand so you cannot connect to it with that client. Even if you could that wouldn't enable any JMS 2.0 features as the broker needs to support the 2.0 features like shared subscriptions etc.
Depending on what you are trying to do there's a good change you can still do it with the ActiveMQ JMS client over JMS 1.1 APIs such as using Virtual Topics to implement shared style subscription behaviors.

Any of those help The change you're referring to was actually a bug in HornetQ that was fixed via this JIRA. That change was brought over to Artemis when HornetQ was donated to Apache ActiveMQ. According to that JIRA the change should be in JBoss EAP 6.2 CR2. Perhaps the version of EAP 6 you were using wasn't current enough to have this fix already.

it should still fix some issue The Artemis "create" command doesn't support diverts. In fact, none of the Artemis CLI commands support creating diverts.

wish of those help When addresses and/or queues are added programmatically (e.g. via the management API) they are stored in the journal, specifically in one of the "bindings" files. The definitions are not written back to the XML.
If you want to reproduce these resources on another broker you can use the data exp and data imp commands to export and import them respectively from one broker to another.
