this one helps. You need to make sure that the modules javax.controls and javafx-graphics.jar are present on your modulepath instead of the classpath.

Now If I remove & from my XML it works fine. But when parsing XML with these tag I get the error.

To fix the issue you can do Go to configuration page of your job/project Select "Execute Windows batch command" from "Add build step" combo Type the following on Command field: javac Hello.java java Hello Save configuration Keep Hello.java on the folder /Jenkins/workspace/ Build the project/job by clicking "Build Now" link and see the Console Output

wish of those help It's probably because you are using the name String for your class, colliding with java.lang.String; in other words, you have written that your main method takes instances of your class as input, rather than the one that the main method needs to take, namely java.lang.String. Try either
Renaming your class Changing your signature to public static void main(java.lang.String[] args) {

it fixes the issue I have the following short program, compiles fine (written and compiled on a a Linux box). If I use public static void main(String[] args) and get rid of the return 4; statement it compiles and runs fine. With the return type I receive the following error (at runtime not when building): , Java is not C and the entry-point must have a void return type.
