Reading selected checkboxes as int

Reading selected checkboxes as int

With these it helps x is your viewmodel and boolproperty is a field of the viewmodel. If you do the same as you do right now for the second checkbox aswel (so create a second field in the viewmodel for that) and then check in the controller:
code :
int number = 0;
if (boolproperty && !boolproperty2)
{
 number = 1;
}
else if (!boolproperty && boolproperty2)
{
 number = 2;
}
else if (boolproperty && boolproperty2)
{
 number = 3;
}

I wish did fix the issue. You need to use this rather than 'input:checked' inside the .each() function to refer to the current element in the set being examined. If you re-use the selector you're getting the set again, then only ever getting the attributes from the first element in the set.
code :
$('input:checked').each(function() {
    names.push($(this).attr("name") + this.id);
});

hop of those help? You cannot do it just with HTML5 but here is a way to do it with javascript
Html
code :
<form onsubmit="return checkCheckBoxes(this);">
<input type="checkbox" required name="op1"> Option 1</u>
<input type="checkbox" required name="op2"> Option 2</u>
<input type="submit">
</form>
 <script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript">
    <!--
    function checkCheckBoxes(theForm) {
        if (
        theForm.opt1.checked == false &&
        theForm.opt2.checked == false)
        {
            alert ('You didn\'t choose any of the checkboxes!');
            return false;
        } else {
            return true;
        }
    }
    //-->
    </script>

around this issue There's no need for your separate count() function as you can do all the required processing in your jQuery change event handler (and on* event attributes are considered outdated and should avoided anyway). You already have the cnt variable stored there which you can use. Try this:
code :
$(document).ready(function() {
  var maxAllowed = 5;

  $("input[name='group_option[]']").change(function() {
    var cnt = $("input[name='group_option[]']:checked").length;
    if (cnt > maxAllowed)
      $(this).prop("checked", false);
    else
      $('#count').text(cnt + '/5 Selected');
  });
});
.options {
  background-color: #e6e6e6;
  display: block;
  width: 300px;
  margin-left: 20px;
  padding: 2px;
  margin-bottom: 1px;
}
.options:hover {
  color: black;
  cursor: pointer;
  transition-duration: .15s;
  background-color: #b3b3b3;
}
input {
  float: left;
}
input:checked + label {
  background-color: #cccccc;
}
input:checked + label:hover {
  background-color: #bfbfbf;
}
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
<b id="count" style="float: left;">0/5 Selected</b><br><br>

<input id="checkbox1" type="checkbox" name="group_option[]" value="option1" />
<label for="checkbox1" class="options">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Option 1</label>

<input id="checkbox2" type="checkbox" name="group_option[]" value="option2" />
<label for="checkbox2" class="options">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Option 2</label>

<input id="checkbox3" type="checkbox" name="group_option[]" value="option3" />
<label for="checkbox3" class="options">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Option 3</label>

<input id="checkbox4" type="checkbox" name="group_option[]" value="option4" />
<label for="checkbox4" class="options">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Option 4</label>

<input id="checkbox5" type="checkbox" name="group_option[]" value="option5" />
<label for="checkbox5" class="options">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Option 5</label>

<input id="checkbox6" type="checkbox" name="group_option[]" value="option6" />
<label for="checkbox6" class="options">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Option 6</label>

<input id="checkbox7" type="checkbox" name="group_option[]" value="option7" />

Table with Checkboxes - selected all Checkboxes and pass values to AJAX script

Table with Checkboxes - selected all Checkboxes and pass values to AJAX script

fixed the issue. Will look into that further I have a table with a checkbox in the first column - when checked this performs an AJAX script that updates a PHP session variable with the selected values. This is all working well but I now need to extend this to have a check box at the top of the first column to allow the user to select all items in the table and pass the value of the selected items (e.g. comma separated) as a parameter to the AJAX script - assuming I need a new script just for this.
code :
$('.select-all').on('click', function(){
    var values = []; // will contain all checkbox values that you can send via ajax
    $('table > tbody input[type="checkbox"]').each(function(i, el) {
        $(el).prop('checked', true);
        values.push(el.value);
    });
});
