wish helps you In this particular case declare a Bool property with didSet property observer and save this Bool value to UserDefaults. The value is only saved if it changed.
code :
var backgroundColorIsBlue = false {
   didSet {
      self.view.backgroundColor = backgroundColorIsBlue ? .blue : .red
      if backgroundColorIsBlue != oldValue { UserDefaults.standard.set(backgroundColorIsBlue, forKey: "backgroundColor") }
   }
}
func viewDidLoad() {
    super.viewDidLoad()
    backgroundColorIsBlue = UserDefaults.standard.bool(forKey: "backgroundColor")
}
override func touchesBegan(_ touches: Set<UITouch>, with event: UIEvent?) {
    backgroundColorIsBlue.toggle()
}

it fixes the issue you can change background color on UIButton
first you should create a util class.
code :
class Color {
    class func imageWithColor(color: UIColor, size: CGSize = CGSizeMake(60, 60)) -> UIImage {
        var rect = CGRectMake(0, 0, size.width, size.height)
        UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(rect.size)
        var context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext()

        CGContextSetFillColorWithColor(context, color.CGColor);
        CGContextFillRect(context, rect);

        var image = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext()

        UIGraphicsEndImageContext();

        return image;
    }
}
func viewDidLoad() {
    backButton.setBackgroundImageForState(Color.imageWithColor(UIColor.blueColor()), forState: .Highlighted))
}

This might help you You can change appearance of Next/Previous(arrow) and done buttons color by setting tintColor of bar using below line. This will change arrow and done button colors to red.
code :
IQKeyboardManager.sharedManager().toolbarTintColor = UIColor.red
IQKeyboardManager.sharedManager().shouldShowTextFieldPlaceholder = false

Any of those help Seeing that you're using jQuery, this would actually be quite simple and, assuming you only have the one background-image to store, would not require an array at all.
code :
$(document).ready(function(){
    var imgBackground = $('.img-link').css('background-image');
    $('.img-link').mouseover(function(){
        $(this).css('background', 'green');
    }).mouseout(function(){
        $(this).css('background', imgBackground);
    });
});

    UserDefaults.standard.set(arr[sender.tag], forKey: "SavedColor")
}
