hop of those help? You don't need look behind or look ahead, instead just use this simple regex,
code :
.*_(\w+)
public static void main(String[] args) {
    String s = "<sourceDocumentId>AX02_APF604_F604080</sourceDocumentId>";
    Pattern p = Pattern.compile(".*_(\\w+)");
    Matcher m = p.matcher(s);

    if (m.find()) {
        System.out.println(m.group(1));
    } else {
        System.out.println("Didn't match");
    }
}

should help you out All the comment writers are right. There are better methods than using a regular expression search to find out if an XML element contains a specified element or its tag.
But if you really want to do this task with a regular expression search, it is possible to use for your example:
code :
<person>(?:(?!</person>)[\S\s])+<XXX\b(?:(?!</person>)[\S\s])+</person>

around this issue Assume I have a string element in python. How do I insert this list element into a regular expression using re.compile ? , There are many ways
code :
myregex=re.compile('{} is (not)? very good at python'.format(mystring))

myregex=re.compile('{s} is (not)? very good at python'.format(s=mystring))

myregex=re.compile('%s is (not)? very good at python'% (mystring))

myregex=re.compile('%(mystring)s is (not)? very good at python' % locals())

myregex=re.compile(mystring+' is (not)? very good at python')

myregex=re.compile(' '.join([mystring,'is (not)? very good at python']))

Find DOM element containing string matching regular expression

it fixes the issue You can either recursively walk down the DOM looking at the textContent or innerText property (as appropriate) of elements, or you can use loop over the collection returned by getElementsByTagName. Either way, once you have identified the text and the parent element, you need to work out how to replace it.
What are your requirements for document structure in the replacement if the string is split over one or more othere elements?
