help you fix your problem Your condition will always return True. A non-empty string evaluates to True:
code :
elif ctype == 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded' or 'application/json':
elif ctype == 'application/x-www-form-urlencoded' or ctype == 'application/json':
elif ctype in ('application/x-www-form-urlencoded', 'application/json'):

post-receive hook calls an executable: cannot execute binary file

wish helps you Well, the hook is executed by the git process writing to the repository. When you push over SSH this process is running in the SSH session. So, when a developed pushes over SSH what happens is he actually loggs in, updates the repo and executes the hook.
When someone pushes over SMB, it's his git proccess who updates the repo. The process is running on his machine, and sure enough it can't execute that binary.

it helps some times I figure out a way around this. Instead of making a POST call to force the browser to open the save dialog, I will make a POST call to generate the file, then temporary store the file on the server, return the filename . Then use a GET call for this file with "Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=filename1". The GET call with that header will force the browser to open the "Save this file" dialog, always.

around this issue , try using "data.d" instead of "data"
code :
$.ajax({
  type: "get",
  url: "serverHistoryView.jsp",
  data: {
    "serverName": serverName,
    "startDate": startDate,
    "endDate": endDate
  },
  contentType: "application/html; charset=utf-8",

  success: function(data) {

    $("#response").html("");
    $("#response").html(data.d);
  }
});

I wish did fix the issue. When you perform the HttpPost on the client side, you will want to read the HttpResponseStream to get the byte data of the response stream.
Once you have the response stream data, you can then deserialize it to the type of object in C# you want, or you could alternatively just write it to the disk as
code :
File.WriteAllBytes("someexcel.xlsx",data);
HttpClient client = new HttpClient();
var response = client.PostAsync("", null).Result;
var content = response.Content.ReadAsByteArrayAsync().Result;
File.WriteAllBytes("excel.xlsx", content);
private static HttpWebResponse MakeRequest(string url, string postArgument)
    {

        HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(url);

        request.Method = "POST";

        request.ContentType = "multipart/form-data;";
        Stream stream = request.GetRequestStream();
        string result = string.Format("arg1={0}", postArgument);
        byte[] value = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(result);
        stream.Write(value, 0, value.Length);
        stream.Close();

        return (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse();
    }
var response = MakeRequest("http://mywebsite.com/ProcessExcel", "accounts.xlsx");
Stream objStream = response .GetResponseStream();
BinaryReader breader = new BinaryReader(objStream);
byte[] data= breader.ReadBytes((int)webresponse.ContentLength);
File.WriteAllBytes("excel.xlsx",data);
