may help you . Figured it out, finally. Created two new variables. Renamed totals = [] to totals1 = []. Then turned the ints in totals 1 into floats using totals2 = [float(integral) for integral in totals1], which was used to get the sum with totals3 = sum(totals2). New code:
code :
     totals1 = [] for row in data:
         values = row[1]
         totals1.append(values)
     totals2 = [float(integral) for integral in totals1] #turns values in totals1 into floats
     totals3 = sum(totals2)

Loop through DF, find values in one column that match list, add totals for each list value found and print

To fix this issue , This could be done with data.table
code :
library(data.table)
setDT(df)[AllCustomerName %chin% unlist(y), .(Sum = sum(Sum.of.FY.Total)),
                by = AllCustomerName]

it helps some times The problem is your query for dates is returning an empty list, so the zipped result will also be empty. To extract the date from that page, you want to look for tags of type time, not span, with class entry-date published:
code :
date_box = soup.find_all("time", attrs={"class": "entry-date published"})
import requests
from bs4 import BeautifulSoup

quote_page = "https://blog.playstaxel.com"
page = requests.get(quote_page)
soup = BeautifulSoup(page.content, "lxml")

title_box = soup.find_all("h1", attrs={"class": "entry-title"})
date_box = soup.find_all("time", attrs={"class": "entry-date published"})
titles = [title.text.strip() for title in title_box]
dates = [date.text.strip() for date in date_box]

for date, title in zip(dates, titles):
    print(f"{date}: {title}")
