Two examples of a mySQL database structure, which one is more efficient and preserves data integrity?

To fix this issue First and foremost it is important to decide on the cardinality of relationship between the 2 tables - Articles and Types as it will influence the choice of the tables structure. Broadly there are 3 cardinalities possible:
One to One One to Many Many to Many

around this issue 1) One option is to package and deploy your application with Installshield.
2) Have your application pull the connection string from an app config. I've seen (and done) this by having an XML file with general configuration settings (like database connection strings), that sits on the file system and is in the same directory as your executable, and is read as your executable is started.

To fix the issue you can do From a normalization point of view there are things you could do to further normalize your data (recipients could have their own entity and types could also), but it's not always the most optimal way of accessing your data.
For example, if you split your problem into 4 different entities (Types could just as easily be an ENUM):
code :
Documents
Document Questions
Recipients
Types
How to preserve data integrity in circular reference database structure?

How to preserve data integrity in circular reference database structure?

Any of those help You don't have circular references. Many-to-one associations are directed in the direction of the one-side. What you have is two paths of association that need to be kept consistent.
You can do it by denormalizing the functional dependencies AttributeID -> FruitTypeID and DeliveryID -> FruitTypeID into Attribute_Fruit and then creating two composite FK constraints:
code :
CREATE TABLE Attribute (
    ID INT NOT NULL,
    FruitTypeID INT NOT NULL,
    Name VARCHAR(255) NOT NULL,
    PRIMARY KEY (ID),
    FOREIGN KEY (FruitTypeID) REFERENCES FruitType (ID),
    UNIQUE KEY (ID, FruitTypeID)
);

CREATE TABLE Delivery (
    ID INT NOT NULL,
    FruitTypeID INT NOT NULL,
    Amount INT NOT NULL,
    PRIMARY KEY (ID),
    FOREIGN KEY (FruitTypeID) REFERENCES FruitType (ID),
    UNIQUE KEY (ID, FruitTypeID)
);
CREATE TABLE Attribute_Fruit (
    AttributeID INT NOT NULL,
    DeliveryID INT NOT NULL,
    FruitTypeID INT NOT NULL,
    PRIMARY KEY (AttributeID, DeliveryID),
    FOREIGN KEY (AttributeID, FruitTypeID) REFERENCES Attribute (ID, FruitTypeID),
    FOREIGN KEY (DeliveryID, FruitTypeID) REFERENCES Delivery (ID, FruitTypeID)
);

I hope this helps you . You need to use a transaction isolation level that will acquire a shared lock when reading the stock level and hold this lock until the update is completed. This blocks the second transaction from running until the first transaction has completed preventing the scenario you discuss.
Have a look at the following Microsoft document for further explanation of the various isolation levels in SQL Server https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/connect/jdbc/understanding-isolation-levels

wish of those help Lists and tuples preserve order, dictionaries and set don't. An available ordered version of a dictionary is collections.OrderedDict, which provides a faster search than a list.
