# Using collision to pick up items

By : Roland Szabo
Date : October 21 2020, 08:10 AM
Hope that helps I just figured out what I was doing wrong, sorry. I was not including the width of player 1. including the width of player 1 also made the collision from the top and bottom work too. A simple mistake on my part that I did not catch despite spending hours trying to fix it. Here would be the full result:
code :
``````if(player1[0] + p1width/2 >
player2chicken1[0] - p2chicken1width/2
&& player1[0] - p1width/2 <
player2chicken1[0] + p2chicken1width/2
&& player1[1] + p1width/2 >
player2chicken1[1] - p2chicken1height/2
&& player1[1] - p1width/2 <
player2chicken1[1] + p2chicken1height/2){
player2chicken1[0]=player1[0];
player2chicken1[1]=player1[1];
}
## How do I pick the most beneficial combination of items from a set of items?
This is pretty straightforward. First, a few assumptions:
## In C#, how can I pick between two items?
wish of those help This may have been asked before, but if it has I can't find it. I'm writing a small game where sums are randomly generated for the user to answer, and correct + incorrect answers are counted. It works thus far, but I wish to implement a system where the game randomly picks between +, -, / and * symbols between the two randomly picked numbers and then, depending on which was picked, changes the way the correct answer is calculated. For a better idea, here is my current relevant code: , You can use an array:
code :
``````char[] operators = { '+', '-', '*', '/' };
``````
``````char op = operators[randomNum.Next(operators.Length)];
``````
``````switch(op)
{
case '+' :
break;

case '-' :
break;

// etc
}

## How to pick two random items from a set?

To fix this issue I'd check the size of the set, and then randomly choose two "indexes" below it. Not that Set elements in java don't have real indexes, of course (at least not in the sense that Lists have them, with a get(int) method, but this behavior can be simulated by iterating over the Set and counting the number of steps):
code :
``````Set<Object> set = ...;
Random random = new Random(); // or some better RNG
int size = set.size();
int step1 = rand.nextInt(size - 1);
int step2 = rand.mextInt(size - step1);
Iterator<Object> iter = set.iterator();
for (int i = 0; i < step1 - 1; ++i) {
iter.next();
}
Object rand1 = iter.next();
for (int i = 0; i < step2 - 1; ++i) {
iter.next(); // Note, this is the SAME iterator!
}
Object rand2 = iter.next();
## Find items with same property from list and pick the cheaper of the two items
wish of those help I have a list of items each with a category and price associated with them. I wanted to know how to create a linq query that will first check for items with of the same category and then check which one of the two is cheaper and remove the more expensive item from the list?
code :
``````items = items.GroupBy(x => x.category )
.Select(x => new Item(x.Key, x.Select(y => y.price ).Min()))
.ToList();

## Pick items from while loop php

this one helps. For a school project I have to make a simple webshop. To display my featured products on the hopepage I used a while loop. But now I want to add a shoppingcart. So after you pressed the button add to cart the right data has to be picked and display on another page. I will do that with cookies. So all I need is to get the right data in a variable. , I have tried this:
code :
``````<?php
\$sql = "SELECT * FROM product WHERE featured = 1 AND nr_available > 0";
\$resultquery = \$conn->query(\$sql);
?>
<div class="preview">
<?php while (\$result = mysqli_fetch_assoc(\$resultquery)) : ?>
<div class="productpreview">
<img src="images/products/<?=\$result['picture']; ?>" class="previewimg" style="max-width: 300px;">
</div>
<div class="description">
<h2><?=\$result['title']; ?></h2>
<p><?=\$result['description']; ?></p>
<p>Size: <?=\$result['size']; ?></p>
<p>Price: € <?=\$result['price']; ?></p>
</div>
</div>
<?php endwhile; ?>
</div>
``````
``````<?php
include "core/core.php";
include "parts/navbar.php";
include "core/helpers.php";
if (\$_SESSION['loggedIn'] == 'true') {
echo "welkom";
\$productid = \$_GET['product_id'];
\$sql = "SELECT * FROM product WHERE id = '\$productid'";
\$query = \$conn->query(\$sql);
\$result = mysqli_fetch_assoc(\$query);
} else {
