I hope this helps . as long as your query actually works, the IIF goes something like this:
query2 = "SELECT IIF(ISNULL(T.HOTELCODE), ""Not Connected"", ConnectivityFile.ID) as [Hotel ID], ConnectivityFile.HotelCode

Access Update Statement And Calling Said Statement Within .NET

I wish did fix the issue. OleDb with Access ignores the parameter names. Supply the parameters in the same order as they appear in the UPDATE statement.
code :
    parameterList.Add(New DataParameter("c_FirstName", contact.FirstName, ParameterDirection.Input, OleDbType.VarChar))
    parameterList.Add(New DataParameter("c_LastName", contact.LastName, ParameterDirection.Input, OleDbType.VarChar))
    parameterList.Add(New DataParameter("c_Title", contact.Title, ParameterDirection.Input, OleDbType.VarChar))
    parameterList.Add(New DataParameter("c_Email", contact.Email, ParameterDirection.Input, OleDbType.VarChar))
    parameterList.Add(New DataParameter("c_IncludeSection4", contact.IncludeSection4, ParameterDirection.Input, OleDbType.Boolean))
    parameterList.Add(New DataParameter("c_ContactID", contact.ContactID, ParameterDirection.Input, OleDbType.Integer))

fixed the issue. Will look into that further You need to declare the variable outside the if statement so that it is available in the else clause. You also need to handle the case when a track is found before an album, unless you have already validated the source file.
code :
using (StreamReader reader = File.OpenText("playlist.txt"))
        {
            ListViewGroup group = null;
            while (reader.Peek() >= 0)
            {
                result = reader.ReadLine();
                if (result.Substring(0, 7) == "|album|")
                {
                    group = new ListViewGroup();
                    group.Header = result.Substring(7);
                    lstPlaylist.Groups.Add(group); // lstPlaylist is existing ListView control for playlist
                }

                else
                {
                    if (group != null)
                    {
                        ListViewItem item = new ListViewItem(result, 0, group);
                        lstPlaylist.Items.Add(item);
                    }
                    else
                    {
                        // you are trying to add a track before any group has been created.
                        // handle this error condition
                    }
                }
            }
        }

should help you out Gave up with this after a long day, and sure enough after sleeping on it and looking back at it in the morning I've realised that one of the column names (Size) is a reserved word in MS Access. Pasting the SQL into the design view of Access, the program must do something to fix this this without informing you.
I resolved the issue by adding a piece of code that adds square brackets around the field names, along the lines of:
code :
insertPart1 = "INSERT INTO [" & tblName & "] ("
For c = 1 To maxC
    insertPart1 = insertPart1 & "[" & .Cells(1, c).Value & "],"
Next c
insertPart1 = Left(insertPart1, Len(insertPart1) - 1) & ") VALUES "

it helps some times Your With block is holding a Range object reference.
You can use the .Cells (parameterless) property to retrieve a reference to that Range object:
code :
Set fittings(y) = .Cells
Set fittings(y) = .Cells(1, 1)
Set fittings(y) = .Item(1, 1)
With New Collection
    .Add 42
    Set foo = ???? ' can't get a reference to the Collection object!
End With
Dim c As Collection
Set c = New Collection
With c
    .Add 42
    Set foo = c
End With
Public Property Get Self() As Class1
    Set Self = Me
End Property
With New Class1
    .Something = 42
    Set foo = .Self
End With

seems to work fine If you are comfortable with not wrapping the code after the FileReader constructor, you can declare the FileReader outside of the try/catch block, like this:
