seems to work fine I think this is related to a previous entry regarding an SSL issue with feedparser parsing an HTTPS RSS feed - https://stackoverflow.com/a/28296087/1627968
Adding the following code remedies the SSL issue:
code :
import ssl
if hasattr(ssl, '_create_unverified_context'):
    ssl._create_default_https_context = ssl._create_unverified_context
import feedparser
import ssl
if hasattr(ssl, '_create_unverified_context'):
    ssl._create_default_https_context = ssl._create_unverified_context
feed = feedparser.parse("http://www.reddit.com/r/funny/new/.rss")
#feed = feedparser.parse("http://feeds.bbci.co.uk/news/england/london/rss.xml")

feed_entries = feed.entries
for entry in feed.entries:
    article_title = entry["title"]
    article_link = entry["link"]
    print(f"{article_title}: {article_link}")

I wish did fix the issue. (So I'm trying to learn python. I figured it would be good to read code by people better than me. I decided to read through the email module...) ,
So does next just refer back to the iterator (self._input)?
code :
In [1]: def a():
   ...:     yield 1
   ...:     yield 2
   ...:

In [2]: a()
Out[2]: <generator object a at 0x1a56550>

In [3]: a().next
Out[3]: <method-wrapper 'next' of generator object at 0x1a567d0>

In [4]: a().next()
Out[4]: 1

I think the issue was by ths following , Edit: As of 2013/02/22, the desired new sort no longer requires sort=new to be added as a URL parameter. This is because the rising sort is no longer provided under the /new route, but is provided by /rising [source].
code :
import praw
r = praw.Reddit('YOUR DESCRIPTIVE USER AGENT NAME')
listing = list(r.get_subreddit('all').get_new_by_date())
print listing

I hope this helps you . If your Python is at /usr/bin/python, then you are not using the Homebrew-built Python, but the OS X default one. (Also note the version number discrepancies in your output.) So any package that you install with pip will be installed into the Homebrew space, but will not be visible to the OS X-supplied Python installation. (OS X does not supply pip, so that's quite like the Homebrew one.)
The fix for you is quite likely to update your path to have /usr/local/bin come before /usr/bin.

should help you out Oren is right about using BeautifulSoup but I'll try to provide more complete answer.
d['entries'][0]['description'] returns html and you need to parse that. bs is great library for that.
code :
from bs4 import BeautifulSoup
soup = BeautifulSoup(d['entries'][0]['description'], 'html.parser')
print(soup.div.get_text())
