wish helps you In R, I'm trying to match a series of strings from a vector of file names. I only want those without letters that end with .tif , It's not $ what fails but the usage of brackets. Instead you want
code :
grepl("^[0-9_]+\\.tif$", allfiles)
# [1] FALSE FALSE TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE
grepl("^[0-9_]+[.tif]$", "1234t")
# [1] TRUE
grepl("^[0-9_]+[.tif]$", "1234tt")
# [1] FALSE

I think the issue was by ths following , I am using jQuery to test input of a dollar amount that accepts whole dollar amounts (no decimals) and with the dollar sign as optional and at the start.
code :
/^\$?\d+$/
^ start of string
\$ literal dollar
  ? optional
\d digit
  + one or more
$    end of string

SQL Query - How do I convert a text field containing dollar sign to decimal only (strip out dollar sign)

will help you I am running a query on a MySQl database and I have a field of text characters that contains a dollar amount with a dollar sign and a number (ie $1,345.89) I need to do a check for not NULL (some of the text fields are NULL) and that the value is greater than 0. How can I convert this text field to a decimal value so that I can verify that it is greater than 0. I do not want to alter the original text in the database. , This query will do the trick :
code :
SELECT ID,
       CAST(REPLACE(REPLACE(IFNULL(Amount,0),',',''),'$','') AS DECIMAL(10,2))
FROM Table1
WHERE CAST(REPLACE(REPLACE(IFNULL(Amount,0),',',''),'$','') AS DECIMAL(10,2)) > 0

I hope this helps . Basically what this needs to do is only accept a price value, that can only be 40 or 39.95 or 100.09 or 4 etc, if the user enters anything other than a digit into the field it comes back with an error.
