wish of those help There is plenty of documentation in the official Foundation site, for example, for info about how to implement the grid: http://foundation.zurb.com/docs/components/grid.html
You will see at the bottom of each section there is the explanation for using scss with Foundation and all the variables and mixins. For example, you can use the mixin @include grid-column(options) to include number of columns in a tag with any class/ID you like.

Can you define a row and a column mixin in the same css tag in Zurb Foundation?

This might help you If you put row and column in the same css selector infact you are going to omit the .row or @include grid-row(it means @include grid-column(9) properties will override on @include grid-row property):
code :
header { @include grid-row; @include grid-column(9); }
header { @include grid-column(9); }
header {
    @include grid-row;
    @include grid-column(9);
#header {
    @include grid-row;
    h1 {
        @include grid-column(9);
    h2 {
        @include grid-column(3);

To fix this issue It looks like this is an issue with foundation:
code :
@mixin grid-column-row(
  $gutter: $grid-column-gutter
) {
  @include grid-row;
  @include grid-column($gutter: $gutter);
  float: none !important;

Zurb Foundation error: no mixin named panel

fixed the issue. Will look into that further As explained here, Sass compiles each .scss file it finds if it does not start with an underscore so when it finds p.scss it compiles it in the absence of the other imported names. The fix was changing the name of the file to _p.scss
