How to pass onClick handler from parent to child components through optional labeled arguments

wish of those help Just to provide a proper answer, since it seems unlikely that this will get closed as a duplicate
Optional arguments are turned into options on the callee's side of things. Otherwise, how would you represent the absence of the argument. There are no nulls, remember, so nullability must be expressed explicitly.
code :
<div onClick=?myHandler> {ReasonReact.string("click me")} </div>,

JavaScript: pass arguments to onclick handler

it fixes the issue Store the record id as an attribute of element itself, but instead of using the metadata plugin which stores it in a weird format, I would recommend you use HTML5's data attributes that is also backwards compatible.
A row would look like:
code :
<tr> .. <a data-id="1">delete</a> .. </tr>
function deleteRecord() {
    var rowId = $(this).attr('data-id');
    ...
}

How to pass a prop back from child to parent in onclick handler and then to another component in React?

may help you . If I understand what you need correctly, you want to pass the project information to the openModal method
You just have to make a small edit to the SingleProject component
code :
const SingleProject = (props) => {
  return (
    <li className="gallery-images">
      <img
       src={props.project.img}
       onClick={() => props.openModal(props.project)}
      />
   </li>
  );
}
openModal(project) {
  this.setState({
    open: true,
    selectedProject: project,
  }, () => {
    console.log('app: ', this.state.open); // this will print "true"
  });
  console.log('app: ', this.state.open); // this will print "false"
}

What is the correct way to pass an argument to parent component in React from onClick event handler

hop of those help? This is my first React app and I have read the official tutorial/doc and am following the guidelines there. I thought I had a decent understanding of the concepts but obviously I am missing something as I am unable to pass value and id back to parent component so I can do the grading in parent component. , You have this:
code :
  onAnswer={() => this.handleAnswer()}
   onAnswer={(answer, id) => this.handleAnswer(answer, id)}
  <ChildComponent
        key={index}
        problem={problem}
        id={index}
        answer={this.state.answer}
        correct={this.state.correct}
        onAnswer={(answer, id) => this.handleAnswer(answer, id)}
      />
   handleAnswer = (answer, id) => {
       alert(id);

       this.setState({
           answer: answer,
       })
   }
   onAnswer={this.handleAnswer}

How to pass data from one child to parent and other child components?

fixed the issue. Will look into that further You can just create simple service and pass value to Subject object. And subscribe that object in other component where ever you want to make use of it.
For example service:
code :
import { Observable } from 'rxjs/Observable';
import 'rxjs/add/operator/map';
import 'rxjs/add/observable/of';
import { Subject } from 'rxjs';

@Injectable()
export class dataService {
    //here i am giving example for string. You can use any kind of object(class)
    private querySource = new Subject<string>();
    query$ = this.querySource.asObservable();

    functionname(value: string){
               this.querySource.next(value);
     }
}

How could i pass a value from a child component to parent, when i have multiple child components?

Hope this helps I would start by consolidating your state into the App component. Save the votes on your content array on each picture object. Pass the upvote and downvote functions down to each children and call them from your button clicks. I would also calculate the styling based on the props, rather than use state.
App
code :
function App() {
  let initialstate = images.map(image => {
    image.votes = 0;
    return image;
  });

  const [content, setContent] = useState(initialstate);

  const upVote = index => {
    setContent(content[index].votes + 1);
  };

  const downVote = index => {
    setContent(content[index].votes - 1);
  };

  return (
    <div className="App">
      <div className="grid">
        {content.map((picture, index) => {
          return <Card key={index} picture={picture} index={index} upVote={upVote} downVote={downVote} />;
        })}
      </div>
    </div>
  );
}

function Card({ index, picture, ...props }) {
  const upVote = () => props.upVote(index);
  const downVote = () => props.downVote(index);

  return (
    <div className="card">
      <div className="container">
        <img
          width="300"
          alt={`id: ${picture.id}`}
          src={picture.src}
          className="image"
        />
        <Options votes={picture.votes} originalPost={picture.original_post} upVote={upVote} downVote={downVote}/>
      </div>
    </div>
  )
function Options({ votes, originalPost, upVote, downVote }) {
  let styling = '#696969';

  if (count > 0) {
    styling = '#008000';
  } else if (count < 0) {
    styling = '#B22222';
  } else {
    styling = '#696969';
  }

  return (
    <div>
      <button title="Down vote" onClick={downVote} className="buttons">
        -
      </button>

      <span title="Vote counter" style={{ color: styling }} className="counter">
        {votes}
      </span>

      <button title="Up vote" onClick={upVote} className="buttons">
        +
      </button>
      <br></br>

      <a
        href={originalPost}
        target="_blank"
        title="Click to check the original post"
        rel="noopener noreferrer"
        className="link"
      >
        Original post
      </a>
    </div>
  );
