I wish this helpful for you Yes, they are changed.
The array is an object, so you assign only the reference, after assignment "array B = array C." both variables would hold the same reference. As a result you will have one object and two references
code :
int[] arrayC = {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10};
int[] arrayB = new int[arrayC.length];
System.arraycopy(arrayC, 0, arrayB, 0, arrayC.length );

Altering multiple objects in in query

Hope this helps Instead of using hard-coded keys, create an array to contain the keys, and check if the object already exists in that array.

Then why are changes made to objects in test units only temporary?

    assertEquals(Doggy, Tom.petList.get(0)); // fails cause array is empty
}
@Test
public void add_and_get() {
    Tom.addPet(Doggy); //will add doggy on to tom's arraylist
    assertEquals(Doggy, Tom.petList.get(0)); 
}

public void get_when_not_existing_returns_null() {
    assertNull(Tom.petList.get(0)); 
}

Altering a variable using Functions and Objects

wish of those help It should be 0. Since the only place that can change local variable index is in function func, but it doesn't get called. Note that this.index is different from local variable index. BTW, this.index++ makes no sense since this.index is undefined).
