Log Reader error while adding a node in SQL Server peer to peer replication

like below fixes the issue Adding the resolution for the benefit of anyone who faced this issue on SQL 2012: We engaged MS support on this. Apparently their stored prcedure "sp_dropsubscriber" misses some tables sometimes. In our case, this entry was not deleted from table MSnosyncsubsetup. Once they found this out after few hours of analysis, a backup was taken and the row related to new subscriber was deleted. This fixed the log reader and replication hummed along properly.

Peer to peer replication in SQL Server 2005/08

it helps some times (Disclaimer: I'm a developer, not a DBA)
We have SQL Server 2005 merge replication set up to replicate between two active/active geographically-separated nodes for resilience in a legacy system.

What's the difference between peer-to-peer and merge replication with SQL Server?

Hope this helps Peer-to-Peer Transactional Replication is typically used to support applications that distribute read operations across a number of server nodes.
Although peer-to-peer replication enables scaling out of read operations, write performance for the topology is like that for a single node, this is because ultimately all inserts, updates, and deletes are propagated to all nodes. If one of the nodes in the system fails, an application layer can redirect the writes for that node to another node, this is not a requirement but does maintain availability if a node fails.

it should still fix some issue Try increasing the Distribution Agent parameter -CommitBatchSize and see if that helps. The default is 100, try bumping it up to 1000.

it fixes the issue As noted in the section Considerations for Using Peer-to-Peer Replication in Peer-to-Peer Transactional Replication, subscriptions must be initialized by using a backup or with the replication support only option.

how to add an article (table) to peer-to-peer replication in sql server2012

may help you . This is covered in Administer a Peer-to-Peer Topology (Replication Transact-SQL Programming):
code :
1. Quiesce the system.

2. Execute the CREATE TABLE statement to add the new table at each node in the topology.

3. Bulk copy the data for the new table manually at all nodes by using the bcp utility.

4. Execute sp_addarticle to create the new article at each node in the topology. For more information, see Define an Article.

After sp_addarticle is executed, replication automatically adds the article to the subscriptions in the topology.

5. Restart the Distribution Agents at each node in the topology.
