I wish this helpful for you To the best of my knowledge, the IntelliJ plugin for TestNG does not have this capability. You would either need to create an empty xml and edit it accordingly to the TestNG DTD (or) make a copy of an existing testng suite xml file and then alter it according to your needs.

Intellij running one test in TestNG

I wish this help you TestNG supports this at the testng.xml level, where you can specify which indices of your data provider should be used. It's called "invocation-numbers" and you can see what it looks like by running a test with a data provider, failing some of its invocation numbers and looking at the testng-failed.xml that gets generated.
Back to your question: your IDE needs to support this feature in order to make it available in the UI, so I suggest you ask on the IDEA forums

Does that help 1.Go to Intellij>Preferences>Plugins>Verify that TestNG-J is enabled. 2.Configure the testNG xml file and provide it as an external source by going to edit configurations and selecting suite and providing the path of the testNG xml you created.

I think the issue was by ths following , How about using 2 test groups and creating 2 run configurations, 1 for unit testing and 1 for integration testing:
