This might help you Your codes are fine, except, you are searching with From:.
Remove the colon(:) from your codes, and it will work properly:
code :
In [2296]: fhandle=open('practice/search_from')

In [2297]: for line in fhandle:
      ...:     line = line.rstrip()
      ...:     if not line.startswith('From'):
      ...:         continue
      ...:     print(line)
      ...:
From i
From j

like below fixes the issue If you know how-to escape inner " double quotes, and you know how-to spread a command on multiple lines using a Grave Accent as an escape character:
code :
  Invoke-Command -ComputerName $server -Credential $Credential `
    -ScriptBlock $sb
  $sb = [scriptblock]::Create(
      "New-ADOrganizationalUnit $cn -path `"$path`" ``
        -ProtectedFromAccidentalDeletion 0"
    )

The text to be printed is being printed on the command line rather than print space while using fork on terminal

I wish this help you This is a classic example of a race condition. After the fork call you have, by definition, two separate processes and two threads of control. They are running, notionally, in parallel. (On a multiprocessor or multicore machine, they may be actually running in parallel.)
In the parent, we have these things happening:
code :
   thread of control #1 thread of control #2
   ------ -- ------- --           ------ -- ------- --
1. Hello from the parent
                               4. Hello from the child
3. next shell prompt
1. Hello from the parent
3. next shell prompt
                               4. Hello from the child
                               4. Hello from the child
1. Hello from the parent
3. next shell prompt

Hope that helps I have , One way to do this,

continue to print 100 lines at a time if user enters input

will be helpful for those in need One approach might be to simply keep track of how many lines you are writing to the console. When you reach 100 lines, stop outputting, wait for input, reset the counter or use %100, and resume the loop.

How to print several lines to stdout while overwriting what was printed before?

This might help you Even using \r, the standard functions (scanf, fgets ...) reads from stdin until a Return is pressed, in these cases the cursor always goes down (consumes \n) to the next line of the console.
You need to use some specialized library, you can check ncurses on unixes or the console API in windows.
code :
#define gotoxy(x,y) printf("\033[%d;%dH", (x), (y))
