Swift: Creating iOS framework and importing the framework error : Variable used within its own initial value

By : Tex00horns

like below fixes the issue This happens because you named your variable the name of your class. Swift compiler starts using the name of your variable right away, and decides that you are trying to read the value inside its own initializer, as in
code :
var someVariable : String = someVariable

Importing CocoaLumberjack with Carthage

may help you . For resolving the dependencies you do carthage update, but after this do you run carthage build? Then after the building process, add the framework CocoaLumberjack.framework (you can find it in the folder Carthage/Build/iOS) to your main project
code :
#import <CocoaLumberjack/CocoaLumberjack.h>
- (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions {
    [DDLog addLogger:[DDASLLogger sharedInstance]];
    return YES;

How to use Realm (installed with Carthage) with a framework in a Swift app?

Does that help Is it possible that it's your test target that can't find the frameworks? You'll have to add the parent location of the frameworks to the "Frameworks Search Path" section of your unit tests (likely $(SRCROOT)/Carthage/Build/iOS).
Here's a sample project of a Swift framework bundling RealmSwift as a dependency which you might find useful to compare your build settings against: https://static.realm.io/debug/ParentFramework.tgz
