This might help you Create a formula such as IF Day({job_created_date}) < 6 Then 1 ELSE 0 SUM that formula by your Month group. Note: use SUM, not COUNT for this.
You could use a Running Total instead, but the conditional total approach has some advantages.

To fix this issue I have a field titled COMPLTDATE that is a DATETIME; however when I write,within select expert, {ORDERSEC.COMPLTDATE} >= currentdate - 6 months I receive an error.
code :
{ORDERSEC.COMPLTDATE} >= DateAdd ('m',-6 ,currentdate)

will help you After hours of hardwork, I was able to find a solution.. try and let me know if it works. Its a tested solution though.
This can be done using the sub report.
code :
CDate(DateAdd("d",1,CDate(Year({Дата}),Month({Дата}),01)))
CDate({Дата})>= {?Pm-@Required date}
and
CDate({Дата})< CDate(DateAdd("m",1,{?Pm-@Required date})
