querying the google tag manager data layer using php

Hope this helps The GTM datalayer is a Javascript variable that exists only in the rendered frontend code. Since PHP runs on the server end of things it does not have access to the datalayer.
Well, technically you could do funny things like creating an AJAX call in the frontend to retrieve the page with the dataLayer and parse it, but that would be a very awkward way of doing things; it would be probably easier to hook into the serverside process that creates the dataLayer code in the first place.

Google Tag Manager: cannot see Data Layer property value in tag

With these it helps 'Author' is not a valid Google Analytics field. I don't know offhand all the valid fields, but they include 'page', 'cookiedomain', 'allowLinker' - 'author' certainly isn't one of them. You might want to try defining a custom dimension in your property settings and setting the value of that with the author.

Defining Google Tag Manager Data Layer variables

I think the issue was by ths following , Proper data governance should dictate that your data layer keys are well defined so that you don't have redundancy and ambiguity. Also, use of the event key is vital if you absolutely need to reuse a particular name, like category, with a different event. In that example, your data layer variable can be used for whatever event, and the event itself will ensure that that key is getting the correct value into the correct event tag.
If you do need to use a nested data structure, make sure your data layer variable uses the proper dot notation as you've indicated (ie. test.0.category). Note that in much the same way, the enhanced ecommerce data layer parameters can accessed.

Google Tag Manager, event push to data layer

this one helps. I write this code to push an event to the data layer via the Google Tag Manager whenever a user mouseover on a specific area of the website for at lesast 1 second. The problem is that I have 8 other area that uses this piece of code and push other information to the data layer (of course I defined different IDs for these divs), but here comes the hard part: Every single area pushes the same event on mouseover (the event which was created for last time as Tag in Google Tag Manager). How could I push these events corretly to the data layer? , Use following code to setup listening events on your page:

Google Tag Manager (GTM) Data Layer via REST API

By : Fernando Carvalho

To fix this issue 1) If by the REST API you mean the Google Tag Manager API then no, this is for GTM configuration only.
GTM for web pages is not run on the server in any case - it bundles the configured tags into a Javascript function that is evaluated and executed in the client, so there is nothing you could push the data to. And while it is vaguely possible you could reverse engineer the network calls from the Mobile SDK (mobile GTM is pretty much a different product with the same name) there is no supported API outside the platform specific SDKs.
