This might help you I need to get a list of customers that made a specific amount of valid transactions between two dates. , I think this is the query that you want:
code :
SELECT c.customer_id, COUNT(t.customer_id) as Total
FROM customer c LEFT JOIN
     transaction t
     ON c.customer_id = t.customer_id AND
        t.transaction_date >= '2010-01-01'
GROUP BY c.customer_id
HAVING Total >= min_transactions AND Total <= max_transactions;

should help you out The user does respond to posts, it just returns an empty array. Try this in a rails console:
code :
> @user = User.new
> @user.posts
=> []
@user.posts.should be_empty
it {should have_many(:posts)}

hop of those help? You can use a CASE expression to change all non-negative-one values to 1, and -1 values to 0, and then sum them up.
code :
SELECT Person,
    SUM(CASE WHEN FieldType1A <> -1 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END) +
        SUM(CASE WHEN FieldType1B <> -1 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END) AS FieldType1,
    SUM(CASE WHEN FieldType2A <> -1 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END) +
        SUM(CASE WHEN FieldType2B <> -1 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END) AS FieldType2
FROM YourTable
GROUP BY Person

Does that help You're injecting an entity manager for an extended persistence context. That means that the lifetime of the persistence context is not tied to the lifetime of the transaction: it stays open until you close it explicitely.
Since you got a RollbackException, the persistence context is in a dirty, inconsistent state, and the only thing you can do is close it immediately.

fixed the issue. Will look into that further We are using a Firebird 2.1 database and trying to run a query for a report that counts total transactions and transactions of a certain status. Each transaction has a status that is either successful (1) or unsuccessful (0). There was also a denied status (2) but that's covered in the comments. I'll use ambiguous data. , You should use count(*), sum() and group by
code :
select user_id, count(*), sum(eaten)
from my_table
group by user_id
select user_id, count(*), sum(coalesce(eaten,0))
from my_table
group by user_id

it helps some times
I need a single eloquent query to get a list of failed transactions from all users who have at least one failed transaction, and have not had any completed transactions.
code :
Transaction::whereHas('user.transactions', function($q) {
        $q->where('status', 'failed');
    })
    ->whereDoesntHave('user.transactions', function($q) {
        $q->where('status', 'completed');
    })
    ->where('status', 'failed')
    ->get()
User::whereHas('transactions', function($q) {
        $q->where('status', 'failed');
    })
    ->whereDoesntHave('transactions', function($q) {
        $q->where('status', 'completed');
    })
    ->with(['transactions' => function($q) {
        $q->where('status', 'failed');
    }])
    ->get()
